A Noiseless Patient Spider by Walt Whitman (1819 - 1892)

A noiseless patient spider,
I mark'd where on a litte promontory it stood isolated,
Mark'd how to explore the vacant vast surrounding,
It launch'd forth filament, filament, filament, out of itself,
Ever unreeling them, ever tirelessly speeding them.

And you O my soul where you stand,
Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space,
Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres to
connect them,
Till the bridge you will need be form'd, till the ductile anchor hold,
Till the gossamer thread you fling catch somewhere, O my soul.

JITOM Literature Review and Blog
This month's JITOM Literature Review and Blog features a book written by author Matthew Birkbeck entitled Deconstructing Sammy:  Music, Money, Madness, and the Mob.
Poetry
The One Who Matters Most  by D. L. Preacher

Family Court – appealing the judge’s decree
Motion to right the wrongs created by divorce rivalry

Arguments, bruised feelings, and egos aside
The one who matters most is crying inside

The child in the middle wonders, cries, and questions
Why did my parents go in different directions?

Separate houses and lives – no longer together
But the child between binds forever

Hope in the end all will be well
Life’s lessons they teach only time will tell
